Honoring first responders through service.

After two months of student-led planning, MUNSDG turned an idea from a weekly meeting into a community event supporting veterans experiencing homelessness.

Identify a meaningful need

Research led the team to veteran homelessness and a clear goal: create practical care kits while honoring those who served.

Plan with community partners

Students divided the grant writing, financial planning, outreach, promotion, and event logistics, working with the U.S. Army and Needham Police Department.

Turn teamwork into impact

Volunteers assembled more than 200 kits, later delivered to Boston City Hall for the Homeless Veterans Stand Down Day on September 20, 2024.
